The FL-750 HPLC Plus fluorescence detector can quantitatively measure toxic compounds such as carbamates, glysophates and hydrocarbons to <1 ppb. This device from McPherson Inc. detects herbicides, pesticides and oil in water. It can be equipped with conventional cuvettes or with micro flow-through high-pressure cells. The company says this flow cell approach can be used to directly monitor oil concentrations in water samples at test sites, providing flow rates of 2 l/min with low probability of internal clogging. The excitation and emission wavelengths can be set in advance, and the detector can be configured for full-scale 1-V output for a specific range of concentrations.
