Nufern provides a selection of off-the-shelf photosensitive fibers, including cladding-mode offset fibers, cladding-mode suppressed fibers, pump locker fibers and fibers mode-matched to SMF28 fiber. They are designed for use in WDM and DWDM applications and are available in a range of sensitivities. The cladding-mode offset fibers provide an offset of 8 to 10 nm, and the cladding-mode suppressed fibers offer 0.1-dB suppression for a 30-dB grating. The photosensitive fibers can be spliced to single-mode fibers with low splice loss. The company says customers can write repeatable, quality gratings in a short time.
