Dalsa has released a "stop action" CMOS camera with electronic shuttering. The Dalstar 1M28-SA uses a 1-megapixel image sensor that provides 27 fps at full resolution. It features Linlog technology that increases intrascene dynamic range up to 120 dB and that is beneficial in applications where there are significant differences in brightness. This area camera also has global nonrolling shuttering, which reduces image blur by simultaneously exposing the entire pixel array. It also offers selectable 8- or 10-bit digitization and frame rates of >100,000 fps with windowing. Programmable and diagnostic functions are accessible through a Camera Link MDR26 connector. Applications include electronics manufacturing inspection, industrial metrology, medical imaging and traffic management.
