ACK Technology Inc. has developed a miniature thermoelectric cooling system for laboratory cooling applications for laser diodes, photodetectors, CCDs and medical samples. The Miniature Cold Station measures only 1.5 3 1.5 3 1 in. and has cooling powers up to 5 W. It uses a TE cooling module, heat sink and high-quality ball bearing fan to cool to below freezing. Additional standard models are available with higher cooling powers.
