The TIA-4000 is an InGaAs avalanche photodiode optical-to-electrical signal converter designed to provide high speed and gain with low noise for 10-Gb/s communications. With applications including DWDM and SONET/SDH systems, Terahertz Technologies Inc.'s converter offers a bandwidth ranging from 30 kHz to 7 GHz and wavelengths from approximately 900 to 1700 nm. The 5-oz device has a conversion gain of Rv = 2500 V/W and a noise level of 16 pW/Hz1/2. The maximum linear input is 1.0 mW and the maximum output voltage is 0.65 V into 50 ν.
