The AutoAlign-MDX from Newport Corp. is a modular system for the alignment and measurement of fiber optic telecommunications components, including planar waveguides, AWGs, collimator arrays and MEMS. Intended primarily for development, prototyping and pilot production, the entry-level system comprises an integrated three-axis alignment engine, a dual-channel power meter and the company's advanced automation control software. The modular architecture allows the addition of more comprehensive functions, including manual and motorized motion stages, laser diode light sources, photonic test instruments and machine vision equipment to enable visual process monitoring and automated control.
