Jeti Technische Instrumente GmbH has unveiled a PC-based spectrophotometer for the visible wavelength range. The specbos 3000 USB offers a resolution of 9 nm (FWHM) and can be used for transmission measurement of liquids in cuvettes with an optical path length of 20 mm as well as for flat solid samples. The device has a USB port and includes software that displays transmission, absorption and derivated spectra. Optional software is available for color measurements. The company says its small size allows it to be used for production control applications.
