Xenon Corp. has introduced the RC-1002 CoolCure Twin-XL pulsed UV/VIS curing system suitable for use with devices ranging from micron-size up to 20 in. in length. The system includes a power supply and a pulse-forming network. Two xenon lamps, with a 5.5-in.-diameter light footprint, are driven by a switch control module and produce 1000 W/cm2 of peak power and 100 W/cm2 of average power. The lamps can be mounted remotely. The company says the system offers lower energy consumption, greater flexibility, deeper penetration and cooler substrate surface temperatures than do mercury lamp curing systems. The device eliminates toxicity issues associated with mercury lamps and can be integrated into OEM and end-user systems.
