A 40 x 50 x 90-mm digital camera that connects directly to standard Camera Link frame grabbers has been released by NeuriCam SpA. CLinkCam is based on the Pupilla sensor, a 640 x 480-pixel VGA gray-scale array that provides a dynamic range of 120 dB and a 10-bit output with logarithmic response. The company says that the camera is free of blooming effects and that it can be used in a range of lighting conditions without the need for an electrically controlled iris. It delivers a pixel rate of eight megapixels per second, a full-frame rate of 24 fps and quarter VGA frames at 96 fps. The camera supports true random addressing of pixels.
