The YLM-1 laser introduced by IPG Photonics produces 1 W of single-mode power at 1 µm and is available in linearly and randomly polarized versions. The diode-pumped fiber-to-fiber device, measuring 3.5 x 3 x 0.5 in., is suitable for commercial applications such as imaging, avionics, reprographics, spectroscopy and wafer inspection, and other applications that require compact size and enclosed beam delivery. The module runs on a 3.3-V power supply, drawing <10 W of total power. It is available in the 1040- to 1120-nm wavelength range and can be controlled by RS-232 interface or by pin-outs, with a 3.3- to 5-VDC power input.
