BOZEMAN, Mont., Feb. 11 -- ILX Lightwave announces the new LTS-9300 Life-test/Burn-in System, the most flexible and user-configurable laser diode lifetest/burn-in system on the market today. The LTS-9300 represents a new standard in user control, providing flexibility over changing burn-in requirements over time. The LTS-9300 provides easy-to-use programming tools, making it easy for customers to create and maintain their own application software to meet their specific needs. The totally modular design allows for easy in-the-field upgrades as laser diode characteristics and test requirements change.

The initial release of the LTS-9300 supports 14-pin butterfly laser diode packages, with chip-on-carrier versions to follow. The modular design will allow for customization of the temperature-controlled section for new chip-on-carrier designs. Options include relative or absolute power measurement, and heating only or heating/cooling systems. Water-cooled systems are available for maintaining temperatures of 5°C, even with 16 pump laser diodes operating at 5 amps of current. The LTS-9300 also drives high-current peltier elements in high-output pump lasers.
