The specbos 3100 in situ transmission measurement system for liquids measures 100 x 56 x 34 mm and features fiber optic ports connected to a fiber optic dip probe 5 in. in diameter and with a 5-mm path length. Manufactured by JETI Technische Instrumente GmbH, the device includes a deuterium/halogen light source and a spectrometer, and can be delivered with a USB or RS-232 interface. It provides a 6-mm-diameter measuring beam, and its 500-ms measurement time is triggered by an external signal. Spectral-acquisition software compatible with Windows 98, 2000 and XP is included. The system also is available for the 250-to 750-nm-wavelength ranges.
