ADD/DROP MULTIPLEXING The HeptoPort line of 2-D self-alignment devices from Valdor Fiber Optics Inc. features a proprietary Impact Mount technology that enables one optical element to be shared by up to three add/drop multiplexers. It can expand the number of fibers from seven to 19 or 37. Suitable for use in DWDM add/drop multiplexers and isolators, the technology is designed to free up module space and allow new architectural possibilities. Applications include multifiber connectors, hologram waveguides and microelectromechanical systems.
