Carl Zeiss Jena GmbH has launched version 3.2 of its software for use with the LSM 510 Meta confocal laser-scanning microscope. The software includes an online fingerprinting mode for separating overlapping emission signals during image acquisition with the Meta detector. It provides direct visualization of the results of emission fingerprinting for fast sample evaluation and live-cell imaging experiments. The software also includes automatic component extraction -- an algorithm that uses statistical methods to automatically search for the component spectra in raw images.
