CST Global Ltd. has expanded its device library to include distributed feedback (DFB) laser diode fabrication. The company's capabilities include design support for DFB devices and DFB process development, such as holographic and e-beam grating definition, induction-coupled plasma dry-etched gratings, wet-etched gratings, grating overgrowth, ridged-waveguide and buried-heterostructure devices, and process technologies for operation from 2.5 to 10 Gb/s. The company says that, in preliminary testing, its 1550-nm DFB devices have demonstrated side-mode suppression ratios of >45 dB.
