Version 8.2 offers new features that the company says enable the lens designer to analyze and optimize a wider variety of optical systems with more power and ease. Many new surface types, including superconic, 30th-order asphere, compound parabolic concentrator and 3-D cylindrical and circular Fresnel surfaces, have been added to the program.
