OPTICAL OSCILLOSCOPE MODULES Tektronix Inc. offers optical sampling oscilloscope modules for use with its CSA8000 series communications signal analyzers. Designed for 10 Gigabit Ethernet applications, the 80C08C and 80C11 have a user-definable continuous-rate clock recovery from 9.8 to 12.6 Gb/s, as well as standard data and telecommunications rates. They support emerging 10 Gigabit Ethernet FEC measurements and the requisite filters and masks. The 80C08C is a 700- to 1650-nm device with an amplified O/E converter for examining low-power signals from directly modulated lasers in LAN applications. Suitable for 10-Gb/s G.709 component testing and characterization, the 80C11 has a wavelength range of 1100 to 1650 nm and an optical bandwidth up to 30 GHz.
