FIBER OPTIC PROBE A filtered fiber optic probe from Kaiser Optical Systems Inc. is designed for use with small-scale glassware and reactors used in drug discovery, early process development and biomedical applications. The MR Probe is compact and weighs only about 2 oz. Up to four probes can be connected to the company's RamanRxn2 MRA analyzer for simultaneous data collection in situ from a parallel-synthesis automated laboratory reactor. The device also can be used with noncontact and immersion optics for analyzing powders, slurries and liquids in laboratory or process environments. Flanged process optics for coupling to extruders, pilot plant or manufacturing locations are available.
