TEMPERATURE CONTROL The LDT-5900 series precision temperature controllers can be used with laser diodes and photonic devices in low- and high-power applications. Available from ILX Lightwave Corp., the devices feature PID closed-loop control and pulse width modulation thermoelectric current control. The controllers support thermistor, integrated circuit and platinum resistive temperature detector sensors, which can be selected and configured from the front panel or via a standard GPIB interface. The series includes the LDT-5948 60-W device for internal thermoelectric control and the LDT-5980 120-W for external control in LIV test applications.
