405-nm, 20-mW Circular Laser Diode ModuleNow available from Power Technology Inc. is a new higher-power violet IQ (Instrument Quality) laser diode module. At 405 ±10 nm, the IQ2 emits 20 mW of power. It features anamorphic correcting prisms to produce a circularized, astigmatism-free beam. The unit also comes equipped with a precision current source and a PID temperature controller that make it the perfect solution for those applications requiring power and wavelength stability.

The IQ2 laser diode module is especially useful for high-end OEM instrumentation and analytical applications, such as laser-induced fluorescence, spectroscopy, interferometry, high-resolution printing, microscopy and biomedical analysis.

The IQ2 measures a compact 1.50 in. in diameter and 7.52 in. in length. The unit features an adjustable focus, quality glass optics and optional beam expanding optics. In addition, it can operate in CW mode or with analog or TTL modulation.
