The FLS-2200 broadband light source series is available from Exfo Electro-Optical Engineering Inc. for optical networking and component manufacturing applications. The benchtop light sources are offered with single and dual superluminescent LEDs, and are designed for characterizing coarse WDM networks, passive optical networks and optical components. They generate >-30-dBm/nm of stable power for point-to-point testing and characterization of components in all wavelength bands. Insertion loss can be measured as a function of wavelength and as continuity of a link through a multiplexer when combined with an optical spectrum analyzer.
