Infrared polarizers supplied by Medway Optics Ltd. are produced on substrates such as CaF, BaF, ZnSe, KRS-5 and polyethylene, allowing a broad choice for applications from 1 to 250 µm in a variety of sizes. The company says its holographic polarizers provide high extinction and contrast ratios and achieve high transmission and polarization efficiency with optional antireflection coating. The laser-controlled ruled polarizers have laser damage thresholds typically at 100 W/cm2 CW. They eliminate beam deviation problems and have suitable surface uniformity and flatness for reducing stray light problems, according to the company.
