COLLIMATOR The telescope-off-axis-Newtonian series collimator has joined the Space Optics Research Labs' family of instruments. Featuring Zerodur off-axis reflective optics, aluminum hardware and flexured mounts, the laboratory-quality device is available with a variety of ƒ/numbers and clear apertures from 4 to 16 in. The off-axis design eliminates central obscuration, according to the company. The collimators can be purchased in integrated packages, which include targets, aperture wheel, blackbody source and quick-check collimator alignments. They provide testing for applications such as target simulation, IR target projectors, and OTF, MTF and FLIR calibration.
