MOLD INSERTS

Photonics Spectra

MOLD INSERTS NiCoForm Inc. introduces mold inserts made with its NiColoy nickel-cobalt alloy material that can be used for mass manufacturing of plastic components with extremely fine features (<1 µm), including lenses, diffraction gratings and nanofluidic devices. The company can replicate originals produced in photoresist, etched silicon, glass and diamond-turned metal. The inserts combine a hard NiColoy working surface with a soft NiColoy or copper backing for a mold that the company says has excellent mechanical, release and thermal properties, as well as wear characteristics that exceed those of tool steels.
