The Lasiris green laser from StockerYale Canada Inc. generates stable output power with an internal photodiode. The focusable instrument, which has applications in alignment, inspection and machine vision, can project spot, line, cross or other patterns, and its optical line generators have a uniform intensity distribution instead of the Gaussian type. The green beam is more visible to the human eye than the red and provides better contrast for a CCD camera when used on red-hot metal or during meat processing, according to the company. The device has protection from ESD, reverse polarity overvoltage and -temperature.
