Coherent Inc. has expanded its laser product line with the introduction of the Diamond K-300, a hard-sealed, 10.6-µm, 300-W CO2 laser that replaces the Diamond K-250 and has the same compact footprint. The company says that the device features high peak power, square pulse shapes, fast rise times and remote control, and that it is maintenance-free and requires no gas recharging. Diffusion-cooled slab technology makes the laser scalable within a single resonator. Applications include nonmetal and thin-metal cutting, precision welding and ceramics processing.
