Adding to its family of reliability test systems, ILX Lightwave Corp. has unveiled the LRS-9420 model, designed to lower the cost of TO-can and TOSA-packaged lasers and LEDs. The system can accommodate up to 1024 devices in one chamber, with thermal stability from ambient to 150 °C. For life-test applications, individual fixture heaters and temperature control provide ±1 °C accuracy and ±0.5 °C stability during the test cycle. When configured for burn-in applications, the system provides continuous load, constant burn-in without requiring a control computer. Modular electronics produce drive currents of up to 500 mA.
