The Schnaelite athermal etalon material developed by TriQuint Semiconductor Inc. stabilizes the wavelength of its lasers for DWDM modules and systems. Among the company's wavelength-locked devices are the D3587 20-mW continuous-wave laser, which is tunable over 8 X 50-GHz channels, and the E3500 series 2.5-Gb electroabsorption modulated lasers. The company says that integrated wavelength stabilization reduces power consumption and cost in optical communications systems.
