Fairchild Imaging announces the CAM/ CMOS 2K.LS, the first in a family of high-performance cameras for industrial inspection, metrology and machine vision. The CAM/CMOS 2K.LS uses advanced "active reset" CMOS technology that provides previously unobtainable high-speed, high-sensitivity image-capture performance. Ultralow read noise permits operation where illumination is restricted but where high resolution and high speed are required.
The CAM/CMOS 2K.LS is built upon a line array with 2048 7 × 7-µm pixels. The camera features a single Camera Link output channel operating at 80 MHz for a line rate up to 38.7k lines per second, with full 12-bit data depth and antiblooming of 15,000:1.
The camera's other features include selectable pixel-by-pixel gain settings, selectable integration from 4 µs to 4 ms, utilization of a single 6.0-V power supply and a universal F-type lens mount.
