The TOD 050 is a tunable optical detector integrated into a single compact TO-46 package. The TOD 050 provides a more compact, reliable and cost-effective alternative to larger spectrum monitors based on mechanical actuation, linear photodiode array or other technologies in butterfly packages. The TOD 050 achieves the price/performance breakthrough necessary for embedded DWDM monitoring applications. The TOD 050 is the most effective approach to spectrum monitoring within the amplifier to close the feedback and control loop in intelligent amplifiers. A TOD 050 has a place everywhere a conventional InGaAs detector is otherwise found. The TOD 050 is an ideal low-cost tool for intelligent control of pump power levels, VOAs, gain tilters or dynamic gain equalizers. The TOD 050 is designed using Aegis’s proprietary tunable thin-film filter. This unique approach provides our customers with the ultrahigh reliability of a non-mechanical and inorganic monitoring solution. The TOD 050 monitors a signal from a fiber tap coupler. The TOD 050 scans the spectrum and provides power vs. wavelength information.
