ASAP version 8.0 from Breault Research Organization enhances the speed and capabilities of the company's ray-tracing and optical modeling program for simulating imaging and nonimaging phenomena. It encompasses features such as tear-off builder menus, a builder debug toolbar, spreadsheet-based tolerancing, user-defined display viewing, updated glass catalogs, and a tool that shows dispersion charts for glass. Other functions include added optical properties, CIE numerical and graphical color analysis, XML-based CAD file format, an integrated graphics package, a randomization option for arrays, and a tool for dragging and dropping media and models from libraries onto objects in the program's work space.
