Foxy-Lite, offered by Ocean Optics Inc., is a handheld integrated spectrometer and 470-nm light source for one-step oxygen analysis. Foxy-Lite employs time-resolved fluorometry to calculate a sample's oxygen content, and it can be used in applications such as dissolved oxygen monitoring, packaging and fuel tank headspace analysis, and detection of oxygen in biological samples such as blood and tissue. The device comes with a Foxy-R 1000-µm stainless steel sensor probe with a 600-µm bifurcated optical fiber. It has an LCD that can show a strip chart with oxygen values plotted over time. Foxy-Lite also can be employed as a data-logging device with user-defined parameters.
