The LDH series picosecond pulsed diode laser heads from PicoQuant GmbH has been expanded to include the LDH 470, a 470-nm aquamarine version that produces pulse durations as short as 70 ps FWHM at repetition rates from single shot to 80 MHz. With powers of up to 1 W and average power of 1 mW, the instrument is suitable for exciting fluorescent proteins and dyes. Used with the company's PDL 800 single- and multichannel drivers, the interchangeable LDH laser heads cover from 375 to 470 nm and from 635 to 1550 nm. The systems include a pulsed diode laser driver and an integrated collimator, and are supplied in a Linos Microbench-compatible housing. Applications include time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy, optical time-domain reflectometry, semiconductor luminescence spectroscopy, DNA sequencing and immunoassays.
