FLUORESCENCE IMAGING Stanford Photonics Inc. has expanded its XR/Mega-10 series megapixel intensified CCD cameras for photon-limited fluorescence imaging. The Extended Blue Gen III offers a broad spectral response optimized from the near-IR to below 400 nm, and the XR/Mega-10LC has a short wavelength cutoff in the blue-green region. Both versions have a 10-bit low-voltage differential-signaling PCI interface for maximum transfer speeds and provide a gating power supply with automatic bright-field or external control. The automatic bright-field feature instantaneously adjusts the photocathode gate time and intensifier gain to compensate for up to seven decades of light-level change. The intensifier tubes are fiber-coupled with a 1.6:1 taper ratio, resulting in a 10-µm pixel at the image plane.
