The Excipro-D multichannel detection system launched by Del Mar Ventures is suitable for femtosecond and picosecond pump-probe absorption spectroscopy for measuring changes in optical density. It features a frequency doubler for a Ti:sapphire laser, an optical delay line with 2-ns travel and 12.5 fs per step, a femtosecond continuum generator and a rotating cell sample. A multichannel detector head contains two photodiode arrays that are placed after a CDP2025 Solar TII imaging spectrometer to measure probe and reference pulses originating from a femtosecond white light continuum. The system has a control unit that is connected to a computer via a serial port, a mechanical shutter for 10- to 100-Hz pulse-repetition rates, and a mechanical chopper for pulse repetition rates between 100 Hz and 1 kHz. It comes with ExciPro 1.02 software.
