PRISM PAIRS Edmund Industrial Optics has released optics for conditioning the beam from visible and near-IR diode lasers. The mounted anamorphic prism pairs are designed to expand the beam in only one dimension, circularizing the elliptical output from a diode to improve collimation in the X- and Y-planes, and enabling diffraction-limited focusing. The prisms measure 30 mm in diameter and <32 mm long and provide 4.22× magnification. Designed for 650 nm, they offer good performance at 635 and 670 nm and are coated to reduce reflection to <0.5% from 600 to 1050 nm. For custom magnification applications, they are available unmounted. Accessories include dovetail and standard C-mounts.
