The ultima APX-RS digital camera produced by Photron USA Inc. delivers 3000 megapixel images per second and achieves 10,000 fps at 512 × 512-pixel resolution. Its maximum speed is 200,000 fps at lower resolution. In dual-speed recording mode, its frame rate can be changed while recording. The camera, which includes a 10-bit monochrome, 30-bit color CMOS sensor and a 4-µs global electronic shutter to capture rapid events, is controlled by a keypad and RS-422A interface.
