American Technical Ceramics has launched the 540L series ultrabroadband capacitor. It provides a maximum insertion loss of 1 dB over multiple octaves of frequency and is compatible with high-speed automated pick-and-place surface-mount technology. It offers an EIA 0402 footprint, a good return loss through 40 GHz, rugged ceramic construction and unit-to-unit repeatability. The device is useful for ultrabroadband DC blocking, coupling, bypassing and feedback applications in optical communications systems and in equipment that uses high-speed digital logic.
