The SpecterView light-detection system from Southern Vision Systems Inc. is a smart camera designed as an optical oscilloscope for optical engineers. Based on high-speed digital imaging technology, it captures full 1280 × 1024 frames at 500 fps. Direct subframe access allows definition of any arbitrary image subset at up to 500,000 fps. A high-speed USB 2 interface provides the bandwidth for digital output, so no frame grabber is needed.
