250-W LASER DIODES A series of 250-W laser diode modules has been released by Jenoptik Laserdiode GmbH (JOLD) as an enhancement to the company's fiber-coupled stacks and has been targeted for materials processing in plastic welding and for disk laser pumping. Versions are available with center wavelengths at 25 °C of 807, 915, 938 and 978 nm, with 5-nm variation. All operate at 40 A, typical, with a maximum of 45 A, and have a 0.22 NA. They also offer lifetimes of >10,000 h at constant current.
