MICROGRINDER For high-precision diamond grinding of small concave and convex aspheric optical mold inserts, Moore Nanotechnology Systems LLC has introduced the Nanotech multiconfiguration deterministic microgrinding system. The 70,000-rpm grinding attachment can be integrated into the Nanotech 350 and 220-HD series machines. Grinding configurations are ID/OD, cross-axis, cross-axis at 45°, parallel, parallel at 45°, and the workpiece measurement and error compensation system. The cross-axis setup is suitable for convex molds with resin-bonded diamond wheels, and the 45° is for small concave molds with electroplated diamond grinding wheels.
