PHOTON DETECTION IN THE VISIBLE The SPDM-VIS family from id Quantique SA has been expanded to include the id100 and id150 compact single-photon-detection modules. Timing resolution is 40 ps, and detection efficiency is up to 40% over a wide spectral range. Dead time is 70 ns, and dark count rate is 200 Hz. The modules incorporate silicon avalanche photodiodes operating in Geiger mode and designed for photon-counting applications. The instruments can be integrated into any optical setup. The single-pixel id100 is suitable for fluorescence and luminescence detection, time-correlated photon counting, single-molecule detection, DNA sequencing, and decay- and multiple-decay-time measurements. The 1 × 10-linear-array id150 is a multichannel module suitable for parallel DNA sequencing and high-throughput screening.
