Thorlabs GmbH introduces blue laser diode support for its LDC200 driver series. The units provide 200-mA, 500-mA and 1-A maximum drive current with 10-V compliance voltage. An intelligent cooling technique enables safe and quiet operation under load conditions, and other safety features include interlock and open circuit detection. Filtering and multiple stage power or current regulation protect the laser diode from spikes caused by mains disturbances or RF EMI. The circuitry's low-noise design makes the drivers suitable for spectroscopy and other noise-critical applications.
