LASER MODULE The LU0808M040 unveiled by Lumics GmbH is a laser module with up to 4 W of output from a multimode fiber. It is supplied in a cooled, low-profile, 14-pin butterfly package coupled with a 100-/125-µm multimode fiber with a 0.22 NA. The fiber is terminated with a standard 2.5-mm-diameter ceramic ferrule or, optionally, with an SMA connector. Typical operating current is 5.4 A, maximum forward voltage is 2.3 V, and the thermoelectric cooler has a maximum current of 3.5 A and maximum voltage of 2.0 V. Threshold current is 500 mA. The module is suitable for analytical, medical and industrial diode-pumped solid-state laser applications.
