For use in optical coherence tomography and biomedical imaging systems, fiber optic sensors and optical test instruments, InPhenix Inc. has released a line of high-power, wide-bandwidth 1300-nm superluminescent LEDs. They offer up to 24 mW of output with 3-dB bandwidths up to 70 nm and spectral ripple down to 0.2 dB. The LEDs are supplied in either a 14-pin butterfly or a 14-pin dual in-line package, and operate from 800 to 1620 nm.
