THROUGH-BEAM SENSOR Balluff Inc.'s BWL L-shaped through-beam sensor houses an infrared emitter in a rugged, zinc-plated steel housing that resists multiple impacts without loss of function. It has a high-power beam that cuts through heavily contaminated air, and its configuration promotes installation in applications that include single and side-by-side dual-track conveyor systems, destacking processes, parts misalignment and large-object sensing. The sensor features prealigned optics sealed to IP67 protection and is available in three sizes with optical axes from 22 to 42 mm. It provides a response time of ≤0.5 ms and a switching frequency of 1000 Hz.
