DIGITAL CAMERAS Sony Electronics Inc. has announced the XCL series high-resolution, Camera Link-compatible C-mount cameras in a range of resolutions and sensitivity. The cameras integrate into machine vision systems via a standard connection to Camera Link frame grabbers. Features include partial-scan and external trigger functions for clear capture of fast-moving objects for automated inspection and process control. Measuring 2 1/2 × 1 3/4 × 3 3/4 in., the XCL-U1000 black-and-white and the -U1000C color cameras incorporate a 1.8-type progressive-scan CCD that produces 1600 × 1200-pixel images at 15 fps. The XCL-V500 and -X700 black-and-white cameras measure 1 3/16 in.3 for use in space-restricted environments and are available with internal and external synchronization.
