The SBC4018 single-board smart camera released by Vision Components GmbH is targeted for OEMs in industrial, medical, mechanical engineering and robotic machine vision applications. It offers digital signal processing with 3200 million instructions per second and 16 MB of onboard SDRAM image/data memory, and 2 MB of flash EPROM for data and program storage. The 60 × 80-mm device features process input/output, outputs for lighting control, a progressive-scan CCD, instant triggering, full-frame integration and an electronic shutter. For space-saving, a remote head is optional. The VCSB4018 adds a variety of communications protocols, including TCP/IP, UDP, FTP, SMTP, socket support, a Telnet server and an HTTP power server.
