Requiring only 4 µl of sample, Hellma Cells Inc.'s TrayCell cuvette is suitable for biotechnology, drug discovery and forensic applications. Inserted into a spectrophotometer's standard holder, it uses the surface tension of the sample to form a repeatable optical path of 1 mm ±0.02 mm. The lower part contains fiber optics and mirrors for the UV that interface to the upper part, which holds the collimating optics. The parts are optically connected through the sample itself. The cuvette does not require new software or additional bench space, and it operates from 190 to 800 nm and from 5 to 50 °C.
