The new spectrometers, based on a symmetrical Czerny-Turner design, are suitable for measurements ranging from 200 to 1100 nm. Resolution, which is determined by the instrument, slit and grating combination, can be as narrow as 0.1 nm FWHM. A USB interface provides for quick and simple installation and operation without the need for a power supply, and a 15-pin, digital I/O port allows for synchronization with a shutter or a pulsed light source.

The compact spectrometers use an optical bench with a 45-mm focal length and a 102-pixel photodiode detector array; the high-resolution spectrometers use an optical bench with a 75-mm focal length and a 2048-pixel CCD detector array.
Complementing these spectrometers are integrating spheres, calibrated light sources and a full line of fiber optic patch cords and reflection probes for color and irradiance measurement of both solids and fluids.
